Our Program

Prairie Soul operates on a philosophy that all children have the right to learn in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.

We provide self-expressive and natural open ended materials to broaden children’s imaginations, enhance their senses and to create wonder.

We foster each child’s individual social, emotional, physical and cognitive development by allowing children to learn at their own pace and encourage them to explore their surroundings safely and freely.

Our program offers both flexibility and structure with choices. This leads to effective problem solving skills, reasoning skills, self awareness and self confidence.

We see our program as an extension of the child’s home which creates sincere relationships between staff, children and their families. It is our goal to foster a well-balanced and inclusive program in which children, families and the community can grow and learn from each other.

  • To promote a warm, caring, nurturing, inclusive, anti-biased environment for every child and their family.

  • To promote the individual development of each child.

  • To encourage the socialization of each child.

  • To provide developmentally appropriate group experiences in a child centred environment.

  • To enrich and support families in our community.

Goals & Objectives

Our curriculum

We believe learning starts with curiosity. Our curriculum is built around open-ended play, time outdoors, and space for children to ask questions, try things, and figure out how the world works. It’s less about rushing milestones and more about building confident, capable little humans who love to learn.

Scrapbook Keepsakes

Scrapbooks contain children’s art pieces and photos from throughout the year. They are presented to the children and their families at the end of the year to take home as a wonderful keepsake to reflect on for years to come.

Our Outdoor Environment

Our community is surrounded by mature trees, open fields, hills, streams, plant life and wildlife. We have a natural path that takes us to a park that hosts a climber, swings and a picnic area.
